What we collect when you book or list a business on GetGbam, why, who sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

DraftA lawyer reviews this before GetGbam launches. Until then it may change.
1. Who we are
GetGbam is a booking service from Coniungo Labs. We decide how your personal data is used on GetGbam, so we’re responsible for it under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
2. What we collect
When you book or set up an account:
- Your name, phone number and email.
- Your date of birth, if you choose to give it.
- Whether you’d like offers and news. That’s off unless you tick it.
- Your address, only for a home visit.
- Your answers to any questions the business asks when you book.
- Your bookings, payments and refunds.
- Reviews you post, and problems you report with what you tell us.
- If you book for someone else, their name and phone number, used only for that booking.
When you list a business:
- Your name, work email and phone number, and the same for anyone you invite to your team.
- Your business’s name, services, prices, hours and areas.
- The owner’s ID (NIN, driver’s licence or passport), and a CAC certificate if you send one.
- The bank account we pay deposits into.
We also keep basic records of how the site and apps are used, to keep them working and safe.
When you ask for a sign-in code, a quick check makes sure you’re a person, and we keep a record that stops people asking for codes they shouldn’t:
- Your phone number or email, and your internet address, both scrambled so they can’t be read back.
- A random ID your browser makes for GetGbam. It isn’t worked out from your device, and it doesn’t identify you.
- The name of your browser and phone, such as “Safari on iPhone”.
We don’t use this to follow you around the web, and we don’t fingerprint your device.
3. Why we use it
- To make and manage your bookings, and send you codes, receipts and reminders.
- To take deposits, pay businesses and make refunds.
- To check businesses and staff before they take bookings.
- To help you when you contact us, and to look into problems.
- To meet our legal duties, such as keeping payment records.
We don’t sell your data.
4. Who sees it
- The business you book sees your name, phone number, booking and answers. For a home visit, they see your address once you’ve booked.
- Our payment partner handles card payments and transfers. GetGbam never sees your full card number.
- Services we use to run GetGbam, such as hosting, the bot check, text messages and email, only for that purpose.
- Everyone, for reviews: your first name and the first letter of your last name, the service and the day.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
To be confirmed
The names of our payment partner and the other services we use.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your data while you use GetGbam. When you close your account, it closes straight away, and we delete its details 30 days later. Payment records stay only as long as the law requires.
To be confirmed
How long we keep each other kind of record, such as reported problems and sign-in records.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of your data.
- Correct anything that’s wrong.
- Delete your data, unless the law requires us to keep it.
- Stop using your data for something, where the law allows.
- Stop sending you offers. Booking messages always come, since they’re about your bookings.
Email us from the address on your account, and we’ll answer within the time the law sets. If you’re not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
7. Keeping it safe
We protect your data in storage and on the way to us, and we limit who at GetGbam can see it.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If a change matters to you, we tell you first.
9. Contact us
Email help@getgbam.com with any question about your data.
