How the deposit works
Why you pay half when you book, who holds it, and when the business gets it.

When you book, you pay half the price as a deposit. The other half you pay at the visit.
Why half
The deposit holds your time. Nobody else can book it, and the business knows you’re coming. If plans change, the rules for your deposit are the same for every booking, and you see them before you pay.
Who holds it
GetGbam holds your deposit, not the business. It stays with us until the visit.
When the business gets it
Your booking comes with a QR code. When you arrive, or they arrive at your home, they scan it. That checks you in and releases the deposit to them. You then pay the other half once it’s done.
| What happens | Your deposit |
|---|---|
| They scan your QR code | Goes to the business |
| You cancel more than 24 hours before | Comes back to you in full |
| You cancel inside 24 hours | Goes to the business |
| You don’t turn up within 30 minutes of the start | Goes to the business |
| The business cancels | Comes back to you in full |
The deposit is half the total, rounded up to the naira. For a home visit, the total includes the travel fee.
